LUES Family Focus for April: Don't Stress the TEST!
Address Test Anxiety- Test anxiety is normal, so if your child experiences this anxiety, teach relaxation techniques and coping strategies, such as deep breathing exercises or breaks, to manage the stress.

LUES Family Focus for April: Don't Stress the TEST!
Stay Positive- Maintain a positive attitude about testing. Encourage your child to approach assessments as opportunities to showcase their knowledge and skills, and remind them that you are looking for growth, not perfection. Your attitude about the test can be contagious to your child, so it is important that it is positive!

LUES Family Focus for April: Don't Stress the TEST!
Regular Study Habits- Encourage your child to review materials and practice problems before the test. Consistent study habits, implemented over time, can boost confidence and minimize stress and anxiety on test day. Don't try to cram the material in the night before the test, that is unrealistic and will increase testing anxiety.

Rest: Ensure your child gets a good night's sleep before test days. Put these dates on your calendar: April 21-25, 2025 , and try to make sure your schedule allows them to be in bed on time the night before their tests. A well-rested mind increases focus and performance.

LUES Family Focus for April: Don't Stress the TEST!
This month, as GMAS testing approaches, we will send out many ways that families can support and encourage their students. You will receive ideas and reminders of how you can support your child and the school as testing begins! By working together, we can help your child perform at their best and navigate the GMAS with confidence and resilience.

FECHA: 27 de marzo de 2025
Hola familia LUES,
· ¿Cómo puedo ayudarte a alcanzar tus objetivos?
Gracias nuevamente por su continua colaboración y apoyo en el aprendizaje de sus estudiantes.
Mejor,
Rhonda Piedra
Director, LUES

DATE: March 27, 2025
Hello LUES Family,
Congratulations to your student on completing the final iReady Diagnostic for the 2024-2025 school year! As I’ve mentioned before, the Diagnostic is an important tool we use to understand your student better and where we can offer the best support.
You can also talk to your student about the work they just completed and learn more about their progress. Here are some questions you can use to spark a discussion:
· What was it like to take the Diagnostic? What did you do during the test to make sure you did your best?
· Tell me about some of the reflections you’ve made from your data. What are you proud of? What do you need to work on?
· What goals did you set based on this Diagnostic?
· How can I help support your goals?
Thank you again for your continued partnership and support in your student’s learning.
Best,
Rhonda Stone
Principal, LUES
