On Saturday our cross country team competed in the GA Middle School State Cross Country Championship hosted by Bleckley County, and our boys brought home 2nd place!! In the championship division, we had several in the top 25 as well that received individual awards: Luis Valentin took 3rd, Palmer Davis placed 12th, and Chris Aguilar came in 19th out of 134 runners. In the JV division, Julius Garnes came in 10th out of 111 runners. Coach Goodwin expresses how proud she is of this entire group of athletes, boys and girls. They worked so hard the last several months. They finished strong, and it was a great end to an awesome season. They were a special group of athletes and we are so proud of them!

Before Fall Break, the TCMS staff ran an “Amazing Race” while deepening their understanding of Standards 7 and 8 of their TAPS evaluation. They created puzzles and solved cryptograms and word problems to gather clues to find the mystery location of the prize of $20 DVA Bucks!
ELA teachers shared pre-reading strategies to support understanding of ways to build literacy across all content areas.
We also kicked off our iReady competition to begin when our students return after Fall break.
It was a great day of learning for our TCMS staff!
