Local Outreach - Vidalia Church of God is hosting a Food Distribution on 8/24/24 at 9am. (401 Adams Street) They ask that attendees pull into the parking lot and await further instructions from one of their volunteers.
The Toombs County community tailgate is tomorrow (Aug 23) from 4:30-6:30pm in downtown Lyons. We invite you to come shop and eat local while enjoying the best town around! We will line the downtown streets at 6:15 PM to cheer on the TCHS Football Team in their "Dog Walk!”

Our Toombs County community tailgate will be this Friday, Aug 23 (4:30-6:30pm) in downtown Lyons. We invite you to come shop and eat local. Various teams and groups will host 'meet and greets' along with booths for you to visit. The cheerleaders will be getting our spirits high, and you can even have some time on the mat with the wrestling team. The Redcoat Drumline will back it all up and there will be face painting, cotton candy, boiled peanuts and much more! The students in sixth grade science have been learning about Power Words and the meaning of the verbs most commonly used in the tasks and standards that drive our instruction. The students completed a gallery walk in which they learned the definitions of the Power Words and completed a sorting activity to match the words with their definitions. #setthestandard

Career Discovery is a connections class at TCMS. As students are beginning to discover their career interests, they took time to learn about one another and work as teams.
Toombs County Schools will proceed with the first day of school tomorrow, Friday, August 9, 2024. In working with county officials, a few roads in the county are still being worked on, however, our transportation department and bus drivers are working to contact those families to ensure safe travels to school. We are excited to see everyone tomorrow!
Missing a day of school here and there may not seem like much, but absences add up. Let's have a successful year together!

After thorough consideration and conversation with the Emergency Management Agency, the Toombs County Sheriff's Dept. and other county officials, we will start school on Friday, August 9, 2024 for the safety of all concerned.
The system-wide Open House is now scheduled for Thursday afternoon August 8th from 2pm- 6pm.

Imago Dei Missions provides cost-free clothing and essentials to foster, adoptive, kinship, and guardianship families. Families are asked to bring a copy of their appropriate paperwork to verify eligibility on their 1st visit. August days/hours are listed on the attached flyer.
